The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026. The online application process starts on 10 September 2026 and will continue until 30 September 2026. A total of 1,871 tentative vacancies have been announced across Delhi Police, CAPFs and CISF Fire.

Fee

The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or eligible debit cards.

Age Limit

As on 01 August 2026:

  • 20–25 years for all posts except SI (Fire) in CISF.
  • 18–30 years for SI (Fire) in CISF.
  • SC/ST candidates get 5 years' relaxation.
  • OBC candidates get 3 years' relaxation.
  • Other relaxations apply as per SSC rules.

Eligibility

SI in Delhi Police & CAPFs

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university or equivalent by the closing date of application.

SI Fire in CISF

Candidates must have either:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or
  • Matriculation + three-year diploma in specified engineering disciplines.

Driving Licence

For male candidates applying for SI in Delhi Police, a valid LMV driving licence for Motorcycle and Car is required on the date of PE&MT. Candidates without the licence can be considered for CAPFs only.

Selection

The selection process includes:

  1. Paper-I
  2. PST/PET
  3. Paper-II
  4. Detailed Medical Examination
  5. Document Verification
  6. Final Selection

PST/PET and medical examination are qualifying stages. Final selection is based on Paper-II performance, including applicable NCC bonus marks, and post/force preference.

There is negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-I and 0.50 marks in Paper-II for each wrong answer.

Physical Test

For male candidates, the PET includes:

  • 100 metre race – 16 seconds
  • 1.6 km race – 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump – 3.65 metres
  • High Jump – 1.2 metres
  • Shot Put (16 lbs) – 4.5 metres

For female candidates:

  • 100 metre race – 18 seconds
  • 800 metre race – 4 minutes
  • Long Jump – 2.7 metres
  • High Jump – 0.9 metre

PST/PET carries no marks and is qualifying in nature.
